OUR WOOD

Our wood come from either Costa Rica or the Northeast of the United States. They are all sustainably harvested from fallen trees. We work with local wood artists to prepare slabs from the trees that will eventually be handcrafted into beautiful furniture pieces.

Costa Rican wood species: Guanacaste & Cenizaro

We are primarily focusing on two species of wood in Costa Rica: Guanacaste which is lighter weight, less dense wood and Cenizaro which is super hard and very heavy. Both are incredibly durable wood.

Both have tremendous color variation which gives them a real tropical, exotic flare.

The pieces are predominantly very large, thick slabs that make remarkable tables.

These photos are raw cut wood, unfinished, they have been wet with water to help show the color variations. Once sanded and professionally finished, their colors will be vivid.

North American species: Black Walnut & White Elm

Our New York wood artist has an incredibly curated collection of Black Walnut and White Elm. The coloring of both species is very unique and we focus on unique veining in the slabs. Both are very contemporary looking wood.
